At the very source of our existence is the experience of rupture.
I chose to illustrate this theme through women facing tragic, happy or even liberating situations presenting thus a large range of human feelings with which any individual circumstance may resonate.
In this particular looking-glass, I invite you to reflect on the universality of our emotions and our life journey.
Faced with personal ruptures (emotional, psychological, physical...) and societal ones (wars, violence, social movements...), each one of us may fall into an abyss from which he/she might re-emerge, broken, changed or richer.
The choosen pictorial style, direct and uncluttered with large solid colours that contrast with the detailing of the eyes and faces, and the raw and candid sculptures shall invite us to empathy.
My wish is that beyond this exhibition the viewer embarks on an introspective voyage about his/her own failures and looks at his/her contemporaries through a new set of eyes.
